Title Of The Film And Logo

The title of our movie is called 'The Chain' as the narrative revolves around a chain that a girl picks up in a graveyard. I researched whether there was already a film called 'The Chain' and there wasn't so it was better making a trailer with a name that wasn't already taken. When I researched into the name of the title the only things that came up was a song by the band Fleetwood Mac called The Chain but there's no link between the song and our trailer. The title of the film will hopefully link with the image that will be placed on either the film poster or magazine cover.

The Logo for the trailer is the image above, it will be appearing at the beginning of our trailer so that the audience can establish the production name. Our production company is called 'Cut Throat Productions'. Dawn designed the logo by hand and consulted everyone in the group on whether it was good or not and I personally liked how it looked. The scissor images being in the actual words was very creative as scissors cut things which links in with the word 'cut' from the production title. The scissors might be hard to include when actually making the logo on the computer but the idea is still good. The colour black was used as the colour is associated with evil, mystery and even death, those words can all be linked to the horror genre. The colour red is the most prominent colour on the logo as it represents danger and is the colour of blood. As it's a horror trailer we are creating, blood is an important iconography of horror that appears in most horror movies so we felt it was vital to include it in our logo. The way its been drawn it looks like it's blood dripping down the page also links with the title as when a throat is cut the blood normally drips downwards. 'Cut Throat' is very blunt and short which reels in the audience, we didn't want a long production name as it's not the main focus of the trailer but we wanted it short and snappy so an audience can remember what it's called.
